Miral has announced that the latest expansion of Yas Waterworld on Yas Island will officially open to visitors on April 4, 2026.
The expansion is part of the waterpark’s “Lost City” theme, which builds on its popular story, The Legend of The Lost Pearl. This new phase introduces several attractions designed to enhance visitor experience and increase the total number of rides and activities to more than 70.
The development includes eight new slides, two jumping platforms, and a relaxing lounging pool. These additions aim to offer a mix of thrill and leisure for guests of all ages.
Among the key highlights is Matamir’s Drop, the tallest waterslide in the UAE, featuring a drop of over 40 metres and a 233-metre-long ride. Another major attraction, Sahel Matamir, is a high-speed tube racer that gives riders a free-fall experience with moments of zero gravity.
Other new rides include Matamir Loop, a fast body slide, and Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights, which combines quick drops with immersive lighting effects. For competitive fun, Matamir Splash allows guests to race side-by-side on a duelling mat slide.
In addition to thrill rides, the expansion also focuses on relaxation and family-friendly spaces. Sarab, a large leisure pool, offers a calm environment, while Al Afda features jump platforms for guests looking for a fun water entry experience.
Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, said the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to providing world-class entertainment on Yas Island. He added that these new attractions will help strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
This expansion marks another major step in the growth of Yas Waterworld, combining adventure, innovation and cultural storytelling to attract more visitors from around the world.
