Android phones with KitKat or earlier systems are majorly affected. On the same note, other Meta apps like Facebook and Instagram may fail on these mobiles. Brands like HTC and LG that halted phone production years ago are among the affected.
Typically, phones that will stop WhatsApp support are 10+ years old. Five or six-year-old devices will continue to run it. But, if your phone's on the list, suitable to secure your chats in your Google account.
This will help switch chats to a new phone whenever required. For those clinging to older phones, time to think about a switch to a newer model. That way you can keep using WhatsApp and other Meta apps.
