This is the second big water project that TAQA Water Solutions is working on in Uzbekistan. Under the agreement, TAQA Water Solutions has special permission to study the project and make a full plan. The company will check if the project is possible by doing technical and money-related studies. They will then prepare a strong plan to make sure the project is successful and can last for many years.
The agreement was signed by Eng Ahmed Al Shamsi, the CEO of TAQA Water Solutions, and Maksud Abbaskhanov, the Deputy Director of the New Tashkent City Directorate. TAQA Water Solutions will use its great knowledge in handling big water and energy projects to create a system that meets the best international standards.
The project will follow a special contract called Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT), which will last for 25 years. When the project is ready, water will be carried from the Charvak Mountain Reservoir through a 65-kilometer pipeline to the water cleaning plant in New Tashkent City. This pipeline will carry 550,000 cubic meters of water every day and will also create up to 20 megawatts of electricity using water power. This will help make sure there is always enough clean water for the growing city.
Eng Ahmed Al Shamsi spoke about how this project will help improve water security and match the UAE’s plans for working with private companies. He said that TAQA Water Solutions is serious about making sure the project is of high quality. He also mentioned that the company has already helped build the biggest wastewater treatment plant in Tashkent, and this new project is another step forward.
Maksud Abbaskhanov, the Deputy Director of the New Tashkent City Directorate, said he believes this agreement will bring good results. He said that TAQA Water Solutions has a lot of experience from Abu Dhabi and will use this to make a strong and safe water system for the people of New Tashkent City.
The full project is expected to be ready by 2035. This project is a big investment in the future of New Tashkent City. It will make sure there is a steady supply of water, which will help businesses grow and improve the lives of the people living in the city.
This project also shows the strong relationship between the UAE and Uzbekistan. It proves that both countries are working together to build a better and greener future.
