The Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority (ADRA) has announced that it has made progress in protecting consumer rights and ensuring business rules are followed in 2024.
One important achievement is that 90% of consumer complaints against businesses were solved in a fair way in 2024. This is an improvement from 83.4% in 2023. This shows how well ADRA is working to protect consumers and support the local economy. The total value of the products and services involved in the complaints was AED 26.3 million.

ADRA also visited businesses in Abu Dhabi to make sure they were following the laws and rules. In 2024, ADRA did 251,083 visits to businesses, which is 4.5% more than the 240,229 visits made in 2023. These visits help make sure businesses stay in line with the rules.
ADRA also did more awareness campaigns to educate businesses about the rules. In 2024, the number of campaigns increased by 45%, reaching a total of 5,397 campaigns, compared to 3,706 in 2023. As a result, ADRA gave 7,951 warnings, 3,081 penalties, and had to close 53 businesses. The total value of the goods that didn't meet the rules was AED 40.8 million.
Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, the Acting Director General of ADRA, said consumer rights and protecting businesses are very important to the authority. He added that ADRA is always trying to improve its work to make sure that goods and services in Abu Dhabi are safe and of high quality. ADRA has also launched an updated service on the Abu Dhabi Government Services website, TAMM, to help consumers learn about their rights and share their views.
Al Mansouri said that complaints and business visits are important to make sure businesses follow the rules and that Abu Dhabi keeps growing as a good place for business and investment. In a survey done in 2024, 96% of the people who took part said they were happy with the inspections and rules carried out by ADRA.
ADRA will continue to improve its services and make sure Abu Dhabi stays a top place for businesses and investments.
