The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation is set to host the UAE Muay Thai Open Championship in Abu Dhabi from August 9 to 11, 2024. The event will take place at the Space 42 Arena in Al Raha Beach and is expected to attract significant participation, with 551 fighters representing 47 national clubs.
This championship aims to advance the sport of Muay Thai and provide a valuable platform for youth and junior fighters to demonstrate their skills during the summer season. Competitors will range in age from 8 to 23 years old and will contest in 12 different weight categories.
The schedule for the championship includes weigh-ins and medical checks on August 8, followed by the preliminary rounds beginning on August 9. The competition will continue through August 10, culminating in the finals on August 11.

Ali Khouri, Managing Director and Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, emphasized the federation’s dedication to creating top-tier events for youth development. “Our ongoing commitment to organizing high-caliber programmes and championships during the summer is integral to our mission. Building on the success of the recent UAE Kickboxing Championship, we are thrilled to present the UAE Muay Thai Open Championship. This event is a prime opportunity for young and emerging fighters to enhance their competitive edge, gain invaluable experience, and make the most of their summer break for meaningful progress in their Muay Thai careers.”
Khouri also highlighted the federation's broader objectives under the leadership of His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi. “The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation is devoted to improving the Muay Thai system and offering exceptional programmes that foster growth in the sport. We are committed to expanding its reach and nurturing its culture among new generations. Our aim is to build a strong foundation that supports the development of national teams and uncovers emerging talent from various age groups.”
