His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, officially launched the "Small Hearts and Eyes Campaign" on Thursday at the National Hospital in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. This initiative, supported by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority in collaboration with Sharjah Charity International, aims to assist patients who cannot afford the costs of essential medical treatments.

During his visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed received a comprehensive briefing from Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Kamali, a pediatric heart surgery specialist. Dr. Al Kamali outlined the cases that have undergone successful surgeries, as well as those currently being evaluated to determine their treatment plans, which may include catheterization or heart surgery for affected children.

The Deputy Ruler took the time to learn about the diagnostic procedures and treatment strategies employed for medical cases at the hospital. He observed the preparations for patients slated for catheterization and various surgeries, including operations for heart defects like atrial septal defects.

In a heartwarming interaction, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed met several children benefiting from the medical support provided by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. He inquired about their health and the progress of their treatment plans, wishing them continued well-being. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Al Kamali and the local medical team at the National Hospital for their dedicated efforts in performing surgeries on the young patients.

Following this, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed visited the Eye Diseases Building within the National Hospital, where he listened to medical staff discuss the procedures for receiving patients for eye surgeries. He learned about the diagnosis of medical conditions and the surgical operations supported by the campaign, including those aimed at treating vision impairments and cataracts.

During his visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed engaged with eye patients who had recently undergone surgeries. Their joy was palpable as they expressed gratitude for the charitable contributions from the United Arab Emirates and Sharjah, which had covered their treatment costs. Many shared stories of how the support had helped them regain their sight after prolonged periods of vision loss, allowing them to return to their everyday lives. They prayed for blessings upon Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed and all those involved in providing humanitarian assistance through the Emirate of Sharjah's institutions.

Recognizing the need for modern medical resources, the Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council directed hospital specialists to expedite the acquisition of the latest medical equipment necessary for accurate diagnoses and effective patient care. This directive followed his observations of outdated equipment in the examination rooms and medical laboratories. This initiative is part of the broader patient support campaign funded by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority through its charitable programs.

The "Small Hearts and Eyes Campaign," initiated by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority through its charitable program "Pain and Hope," aims to raise funds for the care and treatment of approximately 1,000 underprivileged children suffering from heart and eye ailments.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was accompanied during his visit by several dignitaries, including Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Charity International; Muhammad Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority; Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; and other officials and directors from various organizations in the Kyrgyz Republic. Their collective presence underscored the commitment of Sharjah’s leadership to humanitarian initiatives and support for healthcare in underserved communities.
