Sharjah, Neuchatel explore partnership in manufacturing and innovation

Sharjah and Neuchatel are working together to strengthen their business and investment ties. To support this, the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) and the Consulate General of the UAE in Geneva organized a special business roundtable at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel in Sharjah. This meeting aimed to boost economic cooperation and explore new investment opportunities between the two regions.

The event was attended by government officials, business leaders, and investors from both Sharjah and Neuchatel. It served as a platform to highlight Sharjah’s growing role in the global investment market. The discussion also emphasized the UAE’s commitment to building strong economic partnerships with Switzerland, particularly in the fields of manufacturing and technology.

Jasim Al Abdouli, Consul General of the UAE in Geneva, spoke about the strong relationship between the UAE and Switzerland. He highlighted their shared goals of economic growth and innovation.

Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, pointed out how Sharjah’s location and business-friendly environment make it a key gateway to international markets.

During the roundtable, Matthieu Aubert, Director of Neuchatel Service of the Economy (NECO), and Marwan Alichla, Director of Investment Promotion & Support for Invest in Sharjah, shared insights on business opportunities in their respective regions. They encouraged investors to explore potential partnerships that could benefit both sides.

The economic relationship between Sharjah and Switzerland continues to grow. Currently, around 250 Swiss companies operate in Sharjah’s mainland and Free Zones, taking advantage of tax benefits and smooth logistics. In the past year, trade between Sharjah and Switzerland reached nearly AED 84 million. Key sectors driving this partnership include advanced manufacturing, technology, and sustainable energy.

With increasing Swiss investments in Sharjah, this collaboration is expected to bring more business opportunities and strengthen ties between the two regions in the coming years.
