Dubai introduces new six-month multiple-entry visa for yacht crew

Dubai has introduced a new six-month multiple-entry visa for yacht crew members. The announcement was made by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) at the Dubai International Boat Show. This new visa aims to make it easier for yacht crew to travel in and out of Dubai without facing complex procedures.

GDRFA shared the news on social media, stating, “A multiple-entry visa for six months for yacht crew, a new service from GDRFA Dubai to provide a smoother and more flexible maritime travel experience!”

Anyone interested in this visa can visit the Dubai International Boat Show, currently being held at Dubai Harbour, to learn more about the process and benefits.

Along with this visa, GDRFA also introduced the ‘Mobile Marina’ service. This new initiative is designed to make the entry and exit process smoother for yacht owners. A special team will be stationed at Dubai’s marinas to help with all formalities, and entry/exit procedures will be processed instantly—taking less than 30 seconds per transaction.

The Dubai International Boat Show is now in its 31st edition and will run until February 23 at Dubai Harbour from 3 PM to 8 PM.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has also been working to attract yacht owners. In December 2024, Abu Dhabi launched the 10-year UAE Golden Visa under the ‘Abu Dhabi Golden Quay’ initiative. This long-term visa is meant to encourage yacht owners to invest in the UAE.

The initiative was introduced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Yas Marina. It aims to bring more high-net-worth individuals to Abu Dhabi by offering them exclusive benefits.

With these new steps, both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are working to boost the UAE’s position as a top destination for yacht owners and maritime professionals.
