The Agency for the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque in Riyadh has announced its intensified efforts to clean and sterilize the Prophet’s Mosque during the holy month of Ramzan, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). According to statistics released by the General Presidency, the mosque and its courtyards undergo sterilization five times a day, while the toilets are cleaned approximately ten times daily.

The upkeep extends to the mosque's carpets, which are cleaned five times a day using 300 carpet sweeping machines, and its floors are washed with 92 washing machines, employing 1,500 liters of fresheners and 18,000 liters of environmentally friendly sterilizers. Additionally, 2,800 shoe cupboards are cleaned and sterilized daily.

To enhance visitor comfort, the agency has equipped 10,000 chairs, specifically tailored to serve the elderly and ensure a comfortable experience for visitors and worshipers during their time in the Prophet’s Mosque.

Through its various departments, the agency works in continuous coordination with relevant authorities to serve visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in line with the directives of the rulers. The aim is to provide the highest level of services and improve them to align with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, particularly in increasing the number of pilgrims and visitors.

Meanwhile, in Madinah, catering companies gear up annually to prepare iftar meals for visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque during the holy month of Ramzan. These companies serve approximately 300,000 meals daily, ensuring sanitary conditions are maintained both inside the mosque and in surrounding areas. Typical iftar meals consist of dates, fresh bread, yogurt, water, and sandwiches, catering to the needs of visitors and worshipers alike.
