The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has finished improving the roads around the Hatta Souq Roundabout. This project is part of RTA’s efforts to make travel easier and safer in Dubai. The goal is to reduce traffic jams, save travel time, and make the roads safer for everyone. These upgrades will help both residents and visitors reach Hatta’s main attractions more easily.
As part of the project, RTA has built a new 1 km service road next to the Dubai-Hatta Road. This road connects the Hatta Souq Roundabout with the main route. It makes it easier for people to visit Hatta Souq and shop without facing heavy traffic. It also helps drivers move between the roundabout and Masfut more smoothly. This means both residents and tourists will have a quicker and more comfortable travel experience.
To improve safety, RTA has also added new lighting along the road. The modern streetlights will make it easier for drivers to see at night, making the road safer. The project also included infrastructure improvements. RTA worked with Dubai’s service providers to move some of the underground utility lines. This was done to make sure the road meets the needs of the people living in Hatta and nearby areas.

To prevent flooding during rainy weather, RTA used a special water drainage system called the Irish Crossing system. This system helps drain rainwater quickly, stopping water from collecting on the road. This makes driving safer, even during heavy rain, and protects the road from damage.
Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at RTA, said that these improvements will make traffic flow better around Hatta. The upgraded roads will also make it easier for people to visit tourist areas nearby. The road improvements will strengthen Hatta’s connection with Masfut and Al Madam, making travel between these areas smoother and faster.
By upgrading the roads, RTA is helping Hatta grow as a popular tourist destination. It is also making life easier for the people who live and work there. The RTA says it is committed to building more safe and reliable roads in the future to support Dubai’s growth.
