President Sheikh Mohamed expressed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of prominent Emirati figure, Hamad bin Suhail Al Khaili. Mr. Al Khaili, known for his distinguished military career, notably served as a military escort to the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and rose to the esteemed rank of lieutenant general.
In a poignant tribute shared on social media platform X, Sheikh Mohamed conveyed his sympathies to the family of Mr. Al Khaili, highlighting his unwavering dedication to the nation and its people. "My sincere condolences to the family of Hamad bin Suhail Al Khaili, who worked closely with the late Sheikh Zayed and dedicated his life in service to the UAE and its people," wrote Sheikh Mohamed, praying for divine solace and patience for the bereaved.

Similarly, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, paid homage to Mr. Al Khaili's remarkable legacy, acknowledging his 45 years of steadfast service to the nation and its citizens. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, lauded Mr. Al Khaili as "one of the loyal sons of the nation," underscoring his profound impact on the country's progress and prosperity.
Mr. Al Khaili's significant contributions were recognized in 2005 when he became one of the inaugural recipients of the Abu Dhabi Awards, a prestigious honor celebrating the outstanding achievements of individuals in shaping the nation's growth. His legacy was further immortalized with the naming of a street in Al Ain in recognition of his exemplary service.
Funeral prayers for Mr. Al Khaili were held in Al Ain, drawing dignitaries and officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, to pay their respects. As the nation bids farewell to a distinguished patriot, Mr. Al Khaili's enduring commitment to the UAE's values and aspirations serves as an inspiration to future generations.
