Air Arabia Launches Daily Sharjah–Rome Flights

UAE-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia has announced a new daily non-stop service from Sharjah to Rome, giving travellers from the UAE another affordable option to Europe.

The new route will begin on July 1, 2026. With this launch, the airline continues to expand its European network and strengthen direct connectivity between the UAE and key European destinations.

Modern Aircraft for Better Travel

The Sharjah–Rome route will be operated using the Airbus A320neo aircraft. This aircraft is known for better fuel efficiency, lower emissions and improved passenger comfort. The move supports Air Arabia’s commitment to cost-effective and environmentally responsible travel.

Rising Demand for Budget Travel

The new service comes as demand grows among UAE residents for direct and affordable flights to major European cities, especially during summer holidays and peak travel seasons.

Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, said the airline is pleased to expand its European footprint with daily flights to Rome, one of the world’s most historic and culturally important cities. He added that expanding in Italy shows the airline’s focus on providing convenient, direct connectivity while maintaining reliable and value-driven travel options.

Boost to UAE–Italy Travel and Trade

The new route is also expected to strengthen tourism and business ties between the UAE and Italy. It will offer more travel flexibility for both leisure and corporate passengers.

Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, welcomed Air Arabia as a new carrier connecting Rome with the United Arab Emirates. He said the Sharjah service will expand travel options to the Arabian Peninsula and further strengthen the international position of Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport.

With this addition, Air Arabia will operate daily non-stop flights from Sharjah to two destinations in Italy, reinforcing its plan to expand affordable travel between the UAE and Europe.
