Dubai, 24th February 2025 – The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that private sector employees in the UAE will have their daily working hours reduced by two hours during the holy month of Ramadan.
In an official statement on Monday, the ministry confirmed that the decision aligns with Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021, which regulates labor relations in the country. The reduction in working hours is aimed at ensuring that employees can balance their professional and religious commitments during the fasting month.
MoHRE also stated that companies have the flexibility to implement different work arrangements based on the nature of their business. Employers may choose to adopt remote work or flexible hours as long as they adhere to the reduced working hours set for Ramadan.
