M42 and Mumtalakat Launch Bahrain's First Specialized Long-Term Care Facility

Amana Healthcare, part of the M42 group, in partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Bahrain's first specialized long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Al Jasra. This significant development marks Amana Healthcare's entry into the Bahraini market and underscores its commitment to delivering high-quality health solutions for the well-being of the local population.

The ceremony was attended by key members of Amana Healthcare – Bahrain’s Board of Directors, including Dr. Mohamed AlSaati, Acting CEO of M42 Bahrain and CEO of Amana Healthcare Bahrain, alongside Khalid Hussain Taqi, Managing Director of Local Impact Investments at Mumtalakat.

In his remarks, Dr. AlSaati emphasized the critical need for this specialized facility, stating, "This new facility will address long-term complex medical needs and provide essential post-acute rehabilitation services. Our partnership with Mumtalakat aims to fill crucial gaps in the healthcare landscape and support the Kingdom's vision while creating job opportunities for Bahrainis." He also announced a Recruitment Day scheduled for October 12, 2024, in Manama, aimed at attracting skilled local professionals to join the initiative.

Khalid Hussain Taqi added, "Mumtalakat is dedicated to investing in key sectors of Bahrain's economy to enhance the lives of its people. The launch of Amana Healthcare will leverage M42’s expertise in delivering world-class care, ensuring that technology and innovation remain at the forefront of this vital sector. This project aims to improve resource efficiency and elevate healthcare accessibility and quality for all citizens and residents. It aligns with our mandate to foster sustainable, long-term partnerships that provide valuable services while creating skilled job opportunities."

The new facility, set to commence operations in 2025, will be a pioneering provider of specialized long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services in Bahrain. Spanning 15,000 square meters, the 100-bed facility will include two large gyms, a hydrotherapy pool, two majlises, and landscaped gardens. With a focus on world-class, tech-enabled services, the facility aims to set new standards in healthcare in the region and beyond.
