Kelly Clarkson Launches Her Own Music Label: 'I’m Excited

Kelly Clarkson has started her own music label, which she shared on *The Kelly Clarkson Show* on January 22. She was talking to singer and actress Keke Palmer, who has also had her own label for several years. Clarkson, 42, was excited about this new step in her career and said she feels it’s a big moment for her.

Clarkson explained that after working with many great teams in the past, she’s now excited to be in charge and make her own choices. She said it felt like being a 10-year-old again, dreaming of a music career and not having anyone tell her what to do.

"I’m so much older than you... and it’s my first time in my career, and I just now started my own label and I’m putting out my own stuff," Clarkson shared. "There’s nothing like being that 10-year-old again, being excited, and nobody saying, 'Oh, you should do this' or 'You should do that.'"

Keke Palmer, who has been in the music business for a while, talked about how difficult running a label can be. Clarkson agreed, saying she is learning a lot while putting everything together. She mentioned forgetting to do some things, like creating a music video and figuring out how to release her songs. But despite the challenges, she’s happy to be taking charge now.

"I feel like I’ve earned it, so I’m excited. I think I’ve earned the moment," Clarkson said.

Kelly Clarkson first became famous in 2002 when she won the first season of *American Idol*. After that, she signed with RCA and released many popular albums like Thankful, Breakaway, My December, All I Ever Wanted, Stronger, Wrapped in Red, and Piece by Piece. In 2016, she moved to Atlantic Records and released albums like Meaning of Life, When Christmas Comes Around, and Chemistry in 2023.

As of January 23, 2025, Clarkson is still listed under Atlantic Records, but more details about her new music label are not available yet. Starting her own label is a big new step in her career, where she gets to make all the creative decisions on her own.
