Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the first university in the world focused on artificial intelligence (AI), has started accepting applications for the sixth edition of the MBZUAI Executive Program (MEP). This 16-week, in-person program is designed to help senior leaders from businesses and the government in the UAE learn how to use AI to improve their organizations.

The program focuses on how AI can be used in different industries, including government, energy, finance, law, transport, health, sports, and education. The classes are taught by the university's expert professors. The ideal candidate for the program should have more than 10 years of leadership experience and a strong desire to lead AI change in their work. They should also be willing to join a group of leaders from around the world who are committed to using AI responsibly.
Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, said: “MEP has become an important part of our mission to teach the skills needed to bring about change in the UAE. This is in line with the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and Abu Dhabi’s Digital Strategy 2025-2027, which aims to make Abu Dhabi a leader in using AI for better government.”
He continued, “We are excited to start accepting students for the 2025 edition of MEP and are looking forward to choosing talented leaders. We have improved the program based on feedback from previous students and to keep up with the latest trends in AI. We want to give the new students the skills they need to lead innovation and solve real-world problems.”
The program includes lessons on how AI is changing industries, the basics of AI, AI-driven changes in business, and how to create policies and strategies for using AI. At the end of the program, students will work on group projects to solve real-life problems using their new knowledge.
The program started in 2021, and more than 200 top leaders have already completed it. These leaders include ministers, CEOs, and directors who are now leading AI projects in the UAE and other places. Last year, 37 senior leaders from UAE organizations graduated from the program.
Last year, organizations like the UAE Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Education, Cleveland Clinic, Etihad Airways, and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation participated in the program. Half of the participants were women, which helped bring new ideas and solutions to projects. Some of the projects included improving traffic management in Abu Dhabi, creating an app to help with diseases like diabetes, and developing an AI system for better farming.
Leaders who want to join the program can apply online before March 16, 2025. Early applications are encouraged. Also, two free spots will be offered to non-government organizations (NGOs) and startups.
