iOS 18.4 to introduce Apple Intelligence-powered Priority Notifications

Apple has introduced a brand-new feature in the first developer beta of iOS 18.4, called “Priority Notifications.” This feature, powered by Apple Intelligence, is designed to help users manage their notifications better by sorting the most important alerts and reducing distractions from less critical ones.

How Priority Notifications Work

Instead of showing all notifications in one long list, iOS 18.4 will highlight important notifications in a separate section on the Lock Screen. Apple Intelligence will decide which notifications deserve more attention, but users can still swipe up to view all notifications like before.

At present, iPhones display notifications in chronological order, meaning the latest messages or alerts always appear at the top. With Priority Notifications, the system will now prioritize important alerts—even if they were received earlier than other notifications. This way, you won’t miss crucial updates just because newer ones pushed them down.

How to Enable Priority Notifications

By default, the feature is turned off. However, users who want to try it can enable it by following these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Tap on Notifications.

3. Look for the option labeled “Prioritize Notifications” and open it.

4. Toggle the feature on to start using it.

Apple Intelligence Expands to Vision Pro

Alongside the iOS 18.4 update, Apple also announced that Apple Intelligence will soon be available for Vision Pro devices. It will be introduced in visionOS 2.4, which is currently available as a beta version for developers. A public release is expected in April.

Apple News+ Food: A New Recipe Hub

Apple also unveiled a new addition to its Apple News+ service. Apple News+ Food will allow users to search and save recipes from a variety of News+ publishing partners. This upcoming feature aims to make it easier for users to discover new dishes and keep track of their favorite recipes.

With these updates, Apple continues to refine its software, making iPhones more intelligent and user-friendly while expanding its services to enhance the overall experience for users.
