A deadly bomb blast near a mining site in southwestern Pakistan has left nine people dead and several others injured. The explosion, believed to be caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), targeted a truck carrying workers to a coal mine in the Harnai area of Balochistan province. The blast occurred on Friday, and the rescue operation is still ongoing.

According to Saleem Tareen, a senior government official in Balochistan, a vehicle carrying mine laborers was attacked, killing nine of them and injuring seven others. The injured miners are receiving medical treatment, with two of them in critical condition. The bomb, which was planted on the roadside, went off when the truck, carrying 17 workers, reached the mining site.

While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, it is believed to be connected to the ongoing separatist insurgency in the region. Balochistan, which shares borders with Iran and Afghanistan, has faced years of unrest led by separatist groups seeking more autonomy. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is one of the most active insurgent groups in the area, frequently targeting security forces and those seen as outsiders from other provinces.

The blast is thought to have been remotely triggered, and authorities are still investigating. The region is known for its rich mineral resources, but the ongoing conflict has made it a dangerous place. Despite the challenges, rescue teams are working to help those affected by this tragic event.
