Gangster Ameer Balaj Tipu Fatally Shot at Lahore Wedding: Report

Lahore: Ameer Balaj Tipu, a prominent figure in Lahore's underworld and owner of a goods transport network, was fatally shot during a wedding ceremony in the Chung area on February 18, according to a private TV channel and Dawn reports.

Ameer Balaj Tipu, son of Arif Amir, alias Tipu Truckanwala, who fell victim to a fatal attack in 2010 at the Allama Iqbal airport, succumbed to injuries sustained during the gunfire.

Adding to the family's history of violence, Balaj's grandfather had also been involved in an age-old feud, as reported by Dawn.

Police reports indicate the assailant critically injured Balaj and two other guests. Balaj's armed associates swiftly retaliated, resulting in the immediate death of the attacker.

Despite efforts to save him, Balaj passed away at Jinnah Hospital. His demise triggered grief and fury among supporters, who mourned at the hospital. Heart-wrenching scenes unfolded as women beat their chests and condemned the perpetrators, while others voiced allegiance to Balaj.

Law enforcement authorities sealed off the area, launching a thorough investigation. The focus is on uncovering the motive behind the attack and identifying the assailant. As of now, no arrests have been made.
