The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), which is part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), has signed an agreement with the Emirates Aviation Association. This agreement will make Abu Dhabi the host city for the 64th Annual Conference of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA 2025). The event will take place from April 28 to May 2, 2025, and will bring together international organizations, government agencies, and leading aviation companies. The General Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi are helping to organize the event.

The agreement will help both organizations work together more closely, as it aligns with their goals while respecting each other’s roles. The IFATCA conference is an important event in the world of aviation. It brings experts together to talk about the latest changes in air traffic control (ATC), improve air traffic safety, and explore ways to make air travel smoother. It also focuses on making air traffic control systems and procedures better and helps air traffic controllers improve their skills.
Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary of DMT, said: "This partnership is important in making the UAE a global leader in aviation. By hosting IFATCA 2025, we are improving air traffic management and building stronger connections among experts from all over the world. This will help keep air travel safe and efficient."
The agreement does not just focus on the conference itself. It also includes efforts to build stronger relationships between IFATCA and the civil aviation groups in the UAE. This will help air traffic controllers from the UAE and the Middle East connect with others around the world. Emirati controllers will also be able to take part in discussions and decision-making related to air traffic management.
The conference will have panel talks, workshops, and presentations by global aviation experts. These will give attendees a chance to learn about the latest technologies in air traffic control and discuss challenges in the aviation world. The goal is to find ways to make air traffic safer and more efficient.
The UAE is one of the busiest places for air travel in the world, and its aviation sector has grown by 10 percent in the last two years. This growth shows that the UAE is serious about being a leader in the aviation world. The organizers hope the IFATCA conference will help improve air traffic control systems worldwide.
The partnership also shows that Abu Dhabi is committed to hosting major international events and continuing its growth as a key aviation and transport center in the world.
IFATCA represents more than 130 air traffic controller associations globally, with over 50,000 controllers. The organization works closely with aviation authorities around the world to help shape the future of air traffic control.
