Dubai – Emirates and Costa Cruises have renewed their partnership until 2027, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global cruise destination.
The renewed agreement, announced at ITB Berlin, builds on over 20 years of successful collaboration between the airline and the cruise company. Their partnership aims to enhance the passenger experience while ensuring smooth connections across air, land, and sea, making Dubai a top choice for cruise travelers.
Enhancing Connectivity and Passenger Experience
Under the extended partnership, Emirates and Costa Cruises will work together on joint marketing initiatives, improved flight schedules, and dedicated flight capacity—referred to as ‘cruise blocks’—to meet growing demand from key markets. The goal is to provide convenient and comfortable travel options for cruise passengers flying into Dubai.

To ensure a hassle-free journey, both companies will share relevant data and insights, allowing them to enhance service quality. Emirates will also dedicate support teams at Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal to make the check-in process smoother for passengers. Additionally, the two companies will focus on improving transport services between Dubai International Airport and Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Expanding the Partnership Beyond Dubai
While the main focus remains on Dubai, Emirates and Costa Cruises are also exploring opportunities to extend their collaboration to other destinations. This includes key regions in Costa Cruises' network, such as Central and South America, the Far East, and Southeast Asia.
Official Agreement Signed at ITB Berlin
The new agreement was officially signed at ITB Berlin by Nabil Sultan, representing Emirates Airline, and Daniel Caprile, representing Costa Cruises.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating:
"Costa Cruises’ commitment to Dubai reflects our shared goal of making the city the leading gateway for winter cruising. For Emirates, the cruise travel segment has huge growth potential and brings significant economic benefits to Dubai. We will work with key tourism partners, including Costa Cruises, to further enhance infrastructure that provides seamless access between Dubai’s top attractions and Dubai Harbour. This will help make the city even more appealing to cruise guests."
Costa Cruises' Commitment to Dubai
Costa Cruises has been operating in Dubai since 2006 and remains committed to the region. During the winter season of 2025/2026, the cruise line will deploy its newest flagship, Costa Toscana, in Dubai.
Daniel Caprile, Vice President of Pricing & Revenue Management, Itinerary & Transportation at Costa Cruises, highlighted the strategic value of the renewed partnership:
"Renewing our agreement with Emirates Airline confirms Dubai’s importance in Costa’s global tourism strategy. We will continue working together on marketing, operations, and strategic planning to improve connectivity and create a smooth travel experience for our cruise passengers. Our goal is to provide unforgettable journeys, and with Emirates, we are confident in delivering outstanding service to our guests."
Dubai’s Integrated Travel Ecosystem for Cruise Passengers
Dubai has developed a well-integrated travel system that makes it easy for cruise passengers to move between the airport and port facilities. The city offers streamlined visa processes, modern port infrastructure, and dedicated check-in services at Dubai Harbour.
A key convenience for cruise passengers is Emirates’ check-in counters at Dubai Harbour. The 12 counters allow passengers to check in for their flights up to 4 hours before departure, giving them the freedom to explore Dubai without carrying their luggage. This means travelers can enjoy the city’s attractions before heading to the airport, where they can bypass most formalities and proceed smoothly to their flights.
Strengthening Dubai as a Global Cruise Destination
The extended partnership between Emirates and Costa Cruises will further strengthen Dubai’s position as a global cruise hub, offering travelers a world-class experience with effortless connectivity and premium services.
By working together, both companies aim to attract more cruise tourists and ensure that Dubai remains one of the most sought-after destinations for luxury cruise vacations.
