Mahir Julfar, Executive Vice President at DWTC, highlighted the division’s remarkable performance. He said, “2024 has been an exceptional year for our hospitality division, reinforcing our key role in Dubai’s thriving events sector. Our culinary team continues to push creative boundaries with innovative, award-winning experiences, backed by outstanding service standards. From large exhibitions and conferences to private weddings and gala dinners, we remain dedicated to setting new benchmarks and exceeding expectations.”

Record-Breaking Year for Large-Scale and Private Events
In 2024, DWTC Hospitality demonstrated its efficiency by catering to some of the region’s biggest events, including Gulfood, World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai, Arabian Travel Market, and GITEX Global. The team also expanded its presence internationally by providing services at GITEX Africa.

Apart from large-scale exhibitions, DWTC Hospitality served over 400,000 attendees at corporate and private events held at its venues. Its expertise was particularly evident in the wedding segment, where the team successfully catered over 150 weddings, serving more than 63,000 guests.

Growth in Conference and Association Catering
DWTC Hospitality also recorded significant growth in catering for conferences and associations. The division served nearly 95,000 attendees at such events, marking a 12% increase from 2023. Major events, including the WCA Worldwide Conference, AWS MENA Summit 2024, and The International Congress of Endocrinology, contributed to this success.

Outstanding Performance at DWTC-Operated Venues
DWTC’s owned and managed venues saw impressive growth in 2024. Jafza One Convention Centre (JOCC) hosted over 25,000 attendees, doubling its previous year’s numbers with a 116% increase. Meanwhile, the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) catered to more than 73,000 attendees, playing a key role in DWTC Hospitality’s success.

Expansion in Off-Site Catering
DWTC Hospitality also expanded its off-site catering operations, serving over 145,000 guests at 1,105 external events—a 37% rise from the previous year. The team played a major role in catering for high-profile events such as the Dubai International Boat Show, Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Dubai World Cup, and the MEBAA Show (Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association).

To meet the growing demand, DWTC Hospitality enhanced its operational capacity, allowing the team to serve up to 40,000 guests per day while maintaining high service standards.

Aiming for Future Growth and Innovation
Looking ahead, DWTC Hospitality is committed to raising industry standards and contributing to Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for world-class hospitality and events. The division plans to continue investing in innovation, forming strategic partnerships, and promoting sustainable practices.

Julfar added, “As we look forward, we remain dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences and shaping the future of hospitality. Our focus is on creative culinary solutions, operational excellence, and sustainable practices. With Dubai’s vision for economic and tourism growth, we are proud to play a key role in driving the sector forward.”

DWTC Hospitality’s strong performance in 2024 reflects its continued dedication to delivering exceptional service, whether at large-scale exhibitions, private events, or external venues. The division remains focused on maintaining its reputation as a leader in the hospitality industry, both regionally and globally.
