The systems are capable of detecting a wide range of violations, even those occurring inside vehicles, such as failure to wear seatbelts, using mobile phones, and other distractions that divert a driver’s attention from the road.

In recent months, Dubai's advanced camera systems have captured several serious incidents of distracted driving, which can significantly increase the risk of accidents. Notable cases include a woman caught driving while talking on two phones simultaneously and another individual reading a newspaper while driving, which obstructed their view of the road. To address these dangerous behaviors, Dubai Police has launched an awareness campaign under the slogan #Safe_Road_for_All, which includes a video highlighting the dangers of inattentive driving.

Major General Al Mazrouei stressed the severe consequences of distracted driving, particularly following recent changes under Decree No. 30 of 2023.
