Dubai Customs is continuing its "Sawa’ed Al-Furdah" initiative during Ramadan by distributing 30,000 iftar meals to road users and drivers. The meals are handed out at the traffic signal intersection near the Etihad Museum just before the Maghrib prayer.
As part of the initiative, 7,500 meals are distributed every Saturday throughout the holy month. The campaign is supported by the executive directors, consultants, and department heads of Dubai Customs. Volunteers, representatives from diplomatic missions in Dubai, and Dubai Customs employees are also taking part in the effort.
A Long-standing Ramadan Tradition
The "Sawa’ed Al-Furdah" initiative was launched nine years ago by Dubai Customs. It is one of their sustainable, community-focused programs held during Ramadan. The goal is to encourage charity, promote social unity, and highlight the UAE’s leadership in humanitarian and charitable work.

The initiative is carried out by the Ghayath Volunteer Team, which plays a key role in bringing the community together and spreading kindness during the holy month.
Commitment to Community Support
Mansoor Al-Malik, Executive Director for Policies and Legislation Division at Dubai Customs, said that the organization is dedicated to expanding and improving its charitable activities.
He explained that Dubai Customs carefully plans these initiatives to meet the real needs of the community. By reaching as many people as possible, they aim to make a positive impact on different groups in society. These efforts also support the UAE’s sustainable development goals and align with Dubai’s Social Agenda 33.
Partnerships for Greater Impact
Al-Malik praised the strategic partnership with the Etihad Museum (Dubai Culture and Arts Authority). He highlighted that this collaboration enhances the impact of the initiative, helping to reach more people and promote the values of giving and unity.
He also thanked the representatives from diplomatic missions in Dubai for their support and participation. Their involvement, he said, strengthens the spirit of solidarity and adds to the campaign’s success.
Gratitude from Diplomatic Missions
Representatives from the diplomatic missions expressed their appreciation for the Sawa’ed Al-Furdah initiative. They praised Dubai Customs for its dedication to promoting humanitarianism and volunteerism.
They emphasized that such events foster cooperation and social harmony among the diverse nationalities and cultures living in the UAE.
The Sawa’ed Al-Furdah initiative continues to reflect the UAE’s commitment to compassion, charity, and unity, bringing people together during the holy month of Ramadan.
