Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has signed an important agreement with Dubai Municipality to make the city more beautiful with public art. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focuses on improving Dubai’s visual identity by adding more artistic elements to public spaces and residential areas. This initiative is part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to create a sustainable and people-friendly city.
Through this agreement, Dubai Culture and Dubai Municipality will work together to enhance the city’s artistic and cultural atmosphere. Their goal is to improve the quality of life for residents and establish Dubai as a top global destination for living, working, and leisure. They also aim to strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a cultural hub, a center for creativity, and a place where talent can thrive.

This partnership will allow both entities to collaborate closely, share ideas, and identify the best locations for public art installations. The project aims to turn Dubai into an open-air art gallery that anyone can enjoy. As part of the agreement, Dubai Culture will decide how many artworks and installations will be added each year, ensuring they align with the city's beautification plans. Meanwhile, Dubai Municipality will be responsible for selecting suitable locations and obtaining necessary approvals from government and private organizations to implement the projects smoothly.
Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in transforming Dubai’s public spaces into creative and inspiring areas. She stated, "Through our Public Art Strategy, we aim to encourage innovation, support Dubai’s creative economy, and provide opportunities for artists to showcase their work. By integrating unique artworks into different areas of the city, we are strengthening Dubai’s creative identity and artistic scene."
She also praised Dubai Municipality for its dedication to supporting public art initiatives and helping enhance the city’s overall appearance through various beautification projects.
His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, highlighted that this agreement plays a key role in making Dubai a more visually appealing and culturally rich city. He said, "This partnership helps merge art with urban development, ensuring Dubai remains a place of creativity, innovation, and cultural expression."
He further explained that by integrating art into public spaces and residential areas, the city will become even more vibrant. "We are working to turn Dubai into a global model of sustainable and human-focused urban design. This effort aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and will enhance the experience of both residents and visitors," he added.
With this initiative, Dubai is taking a major step toward becoming a city where art, culture, and urban development go hand in hand. The project will not only beautify the city but also create an inspiring environment for people to appreciate creativity in their everyday surroundings.
