A Delta Airlines flight bound from Detroit to Amsterdam was forced to divert to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport early Wednesday morning due to reports of spoiled food served to passengers, airline officials confirmed.

The red-eye flight departed Detroit at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday and landed in New York at 4 a.m. after concerns arose regarding the quality of the Main Cabin meal service, according to a statement from Delta. A spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, responsible for managing the airport, disclosed that upon landing, medical personnel attended to 14 passengers and 10 crew members out of the 277 individuals on board. Fortunately, none required hospitalization.

Delta expressed regret over the incident, pledging to investigate the cause and ensure such occurrences do not repeat. The airline assured affected passengers that accommodations, including hotel rooms, were being provided, and all would be rebooked promptly to continue their travel plans.
