As part of the citywide Ramadan in Dubai programme, Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has launched a new Ramadan Recipes Guide in collaboration with chefs, restaurants and cafes from the ‘Proudly from Dubai’ network.
The guide features around 40 carefully selected recipes, including main courses, appetisers, desserts and baked goods. It combines traditional Emirati and Gulf dishes with Arabic and international flavours, reflecting the cultural diversity that defines Dubai’s food scene.
Supporting Local Talent
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the guide supports Dubai’s entrepreneurial community and highlights creative talent in the food and beverage sector. She explained that the initiative aims to strengthen the presence of homegrown businesses through an innovative platform that reflects the spirit of Ramadan — values of sharing, generosity and togetherness.
She also expressed pride in featuring Emirati chefs in the guide, adding that Brand Dubai remains committed to empowering national talent and helping them showcase their creativity locally and globally.
Promoting Homegrown Businesses
Khawla Al Hashmi, Project Manager of the ‘Proudly from Dubai’ initiative, said the guide reflects the initiative’s mission to support and promote businesses that were launched in Dubai. This year’s edition includes chefs and restaurants from multiple cultures, highlighting Dubai’s global character while maintaining authenticity.
She added that the culinary sector offers strong opportunities for creativity and entrepreneurship. The guide provides members with a new platform to present their ideas, products and signature dishes to a wider audience.
Featured Chefs and Restaurants
The guide includes recipes by Emirati chefs Ayesha Khoory, Halima Bahlooq, Abdulrahman Lootah, Ahmad Al Fardan and the Alghfeli Sisters. It also features international chefs such as Ali Yazdi, Kyung Moon, Saqib Ali, Akmal Anuar and Gregoire Berger.
Participating restaurants and cafes include People, D’lish, Shalwa, Late Eatery, Somewhere, The Solenn, Late Lounge, GAF, The Good Moon and Hattan Bistro & Cafe.
The collection offers healthy recipes and easy-to-prepare dishes suitable for Iftar and Suhoor. It includes salads, meat and chicken dishes, seafood, baked goods and both Eastern and Western desserts. Many recipes are inspired by Arabic cuisine and rooted in Emirati and Gulf traditions.
Celebrating Ramadan in Dubai
The guide is part of Brand Dubai’s efforts to enrich the Holy Month with creative content that brings families together and encourages shared dining experiences. It also reflects the strong global position of Dubai’s restaurant sector, known for blending heritage with innovation.
‘Proudly from Dubai’ is an initiative by Brand Dubai that promotes entrepreneurs, creative talent and innovative businesses founded in the emirate, helping increase their visibility both locally and internationally.
