The Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, held annually by the Dubai Sports Council, continues to grow as a premier sporting event, combining elite competition with strong community participation. The 2026 edition, taking place during the Holy Month of Ramadan at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, features a total prize pool of over AED 4.5 million and runs until 7 March.
His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for their guidance and support, which he said are key to the tournament’s continued success.
“The Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament has become a major platform for athletes and a community event, hosting international championships in padel, volleyball, and other Olympic and global sports,” Belhoul said. He highlighted the contributions of national and private entities, including Al Rashid Investment, DP World, Damac Properties, Al Tayer Motors, Dubai Duty Free, and Dubai Insurance, for supporting the event.
His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, praised the tournament’s strong teamwork and community spirit. Families and clubs actively participate, supporting children and youth in races, cycling events, jiu-jitsu, and padel competitions, fostering a vibrant sporting culture.
The tournament has built a lasting legacy since its launch in 2013. His Excellency Ismail Al Hashemi, Board Member of the Dubai Sports Council and Chairman of the Organising Committee, noted that it is now the largest sports event during Ramadan in terms of participation, competition diversity, and audience attendance.
This year’s 13th edition includes 11 tournaments across Olympic and community sports, such as volleyball, padel, jiu-jitsu, fencing, wheelchair basketball, running, cycling, tug-of-war, obstacle course, badminton, and the popular 3x3 basketball tournament. The competitions aim to promote participation across all age groups while providing a family-friendly atmosphere and a unique sporting experience.
With careful planning, safety measures, and expert organisation, the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament reinforces Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for sports, offering athletes a platform to showcase talent while encouraging community involvement.
