He pointed out the vital role of the private sector in making the UAE one of the world’s leading societies for this demographic, which numbers around 1.3 billion globally.
He remarked, “We are pleased to host this unique event in the Middle East, serving over 50 million People of Determination in the region and offering them insights into the best assistive technologies and rehabilitation practices.” He added that the participation of various stakeholders at the expo fosters connections between People of Determination and international exhibitors, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a hub for assistive technologies.
The AccessAbilities Expo features over 250 exhibitors, including global brands and rehabilitation centers from more than 50 countries. The event runs from October 7-9, 2024, across Halls 6, 7, and 8 of the Dubai World Trade Centre.

As the global demand for assistive technologies grows, the World Health Organization reports that over 2.5 billion people currently require assistive products, a number expected to reach 3.5 billion by 2050. These products help enhance individuals' functions related to various needs, promoting health and well-being while facilitating integration into society.
The global market for assistive technology is projected to reach approximately $50 billion by 2030, highlighting a growing focus on research and development in this field. Notably, women and girls with disabilities make up a significant portion of the population with disabilities in the Asia-Pacific region, pointing to the urgent need for inclusive solutions.
The AccessAbilities Expo aims to bridge the gap in accessibility, showcasing innovations and fostering collaboration among communities, government bodies, and global disability experts.
