Jasprit Bumrah played a fantastic role in India’s third Test against Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane on Day 2. Bumrah bowled amazingly, taking 5 wickets for 72 runs, and helped India get back into the game. At one point, Australia was in a strong position at 316 for 3, thanks to a huge partnership between Travis Head and Steve Smith. However, after Bumrah took the second new ball, he caused a big change. He took several key wickets and helped India fight back. By the end of the day, Australia had scored 405 for 7, with Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc still batting.
This was Bumrah’s 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. He also became the first Indian bowler to take eight five-wicket hauls in countries like South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia (called SENA countries). Bumrah broke the record of Kapil Dev, who had taken seven five-wicket hauls in these countries. Bumrah's amazing performance shows just how skilled and important he is for India’s team.

On the other hand, Travis Head and Steve Smith’s batting kept Australia in control of the game. Head played a brilliant knock of 152 runs, and Smith scored 101 runs. Their partnership of 241 runs helped Australia recover well in the match. At the end of Day 2, Australia had a big total, making it hard for India to catch up.
Even though Bumrah's performance was outstanding, India still faces a tough challenge. The weather forecast predicts rain for the next few days, which might make it hard for India to win the game. At best, India could hope for a draw.
The day started well for India as they managed to take three wickets in the first hour. However, the excellent batting from Head and Smith meant that Australia stayed on top for most of the day.
When the day ended, Carey was on 45 runs, and Starc was on 7. Australia had a strong position, and they were looking to build on it. India, meanwhile, is hoping the rain will help them avoid a loss, as the team faces a difficult situation in the game.
