Abu Dhabi Authority Implements Food Sampling Decision

The Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has recently issued a crucial directive concerning the sampling procedures for food and fodder control and inspection across the Abu Dhabi emirate. This decision mandates His Excellency Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri, the Director-General of ADAFSA, to establish stringent controls for sampling and to appoint qualified personnel to execute this responsibility effectively.

This initiative is part of ADAFSA's ongoing endeavor to streamline work processes, modernize regulatory frameworks, and ensure the meticulous implementation of measures pertaining to food and fodder sampling for control and inspection purposes. By regulating these sampling procedures, ADAFSA aims to enhance compliance with pertinent laws and regulations, ultimately fortifying food and fodder safety standards throughout the emirate.

Director-General Al Ameri emphasized the significance of this decision, highlighting its role in facilitating the re-analysis of samples collected from various food establishments and fodder handling facilities. He underscored the decision's alignment with ADAFSA's overarching goal to modernize legislative frameworks supporting its diverse operational domains, ensuring synergy with federal legislation, particularly after Regulation No 5 of 2010, which encompasses fodder samples within the ambit of food sampling operations for control and inspection.

In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADAFSA, this decision underscores ADAFSA's unwavering commitment to safeguarding consumer health and safety. Director-General Al Ameri reiterated the authority's dedication to furnishing safe and healthy products for both humans and animals.

He further encouraged cooperation from all stakeholders involved in food and fodder handling facilities, urging full compliance with the prescribed procedures to attain the desired levels of quality and safety. ADAFSA pledges to vigilantly monitor the implementation of these controls and endeavors to refine them in consonance with advancements in the food and fodder industry, as well as evolving quality and safety standards for human and animal welfare.
