4 Hat Tricks Light Up NHL Wednesday Night

There were many goals scored in NHL games on Wednesday night. Four players scored most of the goals, and each of them got a hat trick — that means they each scored three goals in one game.

In one exciting game, Joel Eriksson Ek from Minnesota and Macklin Celebrini from San Jose both got hat tricks. Eriksson Ek scored four goals, which is the most he has ever scored in one game. He had just come back from a leg injury. His team, the Wild, won the game 8-7 in overtime. Celebrini also played very well. He is a new player and scored three goals and helped with two more.

In another game, Matthew Knies from Toronto scored three goals. This was his second hat trick of the season. His team, the Maple Leafs, beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3.

In a different game, Tyson Foerster from Philadelphia scored his first NHL hat trick. He helped the Flyers win 8-5 against the New York Rangers.

All these great games happened in just three matches out of five played that night. The last time there were this many hat tricks in one night was on April 1, 2023.
