Sylhet, Bangladesh — The home of Hindu school teacher Birendra Kumar Dey, widely known as Jhunu Sir, was destroyed in an arson attack in Bahor village of Nandirgaon Union, Gowainghat Upazila, Sylhet Division. Local sources report that the incident specifically targeted the residence of the educator, highlighting ongoing safety concerns for minority communities in the area.

Authorities have yet to provide updates on the perpetrators or any arrests related to the attack, raising fears among residents about the vulnerability of religious minorities in the region. The attack marks the latest in a series of violent incidents affecting the Hindu community in Sylhet, with local observers expressing deep concern over escalating threats to their safety.
