Dubai’s leading paid parking provider, Parkin Company PJSC (“Parkin”), has announced new changes to the parking fee system in the city. These changes, known as the Variable Parking Tariff Policy, will start on April 4, 2025. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced this new system to help improve parking availability in busy areas and keep traffic moving smoothly.

What is Changing?

Under the new policy, parking charges will be different based on the time of day and the type of parking spot. The city will have two main types of parking:

  1. Standard Parking – Normal parking spaces.

  2. Premium Parking – Parking spaces in busy areas or near public transport stations.

The new system will have peak hours and off-peak hours:

  • Peak hours (higher fees) – 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (except Sundays and public holidays).

  • Off-peak hours (normal fees) – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

How Will It Affect Public Parking?

The RTA has decided that 40% of Dubai’s public parking spaces will now be classified as Premium Parking (previously it was 35%). The rest will remain as Standard Parking. The new charges for these parking spots will start on April 4, 2025.
