The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) shared that there are now 23,960 drones registered in the UAE. This comes after the ban on personal drones was lifted. Since then, 93 companies and 270 individuals have registered their drones through the UAE Drones Unified Platform.

The GCAA organized a press event with the Ministry of Interior and the Integrated Transport Center of Abu Dhabi to explain how the platform works and how drones can be safely used. The platform was created to make it easier to register and manage drone operations. It also helps to make sure that everyone follows the rules that protect people and property.
The platform allows users to sign up using their digital ID and gives clear instructions on how to register. It also shows users where they can fly their drones safely and whether their drone has the required identification system.
The GCAA also gave some rules for flying drones safely. These include submitting a request to fly through the platform, staying in the allowed flying areas, flying below 400 feet, and only flying during the day when the drone is in sight. Users should not fly over crowds or disturb people’s privacy. They must also make sure that their drones do not pose any danger and stay away from airports and helicopter landing spots.
The GCAA and its partners are working to ensure that drone operations in the UAE are safe and well-managed. They want everyone to follow the rules to help keep people and property safe.
Colonel Jamal Al Hosani from the Ministry of Interior said that starting January 7, 2025, people can use drones again, as long as they follow the safety rules. This is part of the UAE’s effort to improve life and achieve its goals for the future. He reminded everyone to follow the rules to ensure safety.
