Key Agreements Signed:
Business Cooperation
Dubai Chambers, the business organization in Dubai, signed three agreements with major Indian business groups: the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These agreements aim to help businesses from both countries expand their operations in each other’s markets. Dubai Chambers will assist Indian businesses in Dubai, while the Indian groups will help Dubai businesses in India. They will also collaborate on trade fairs and business events to promote mutual growth.
Supply Chain and Maritime Cooperation
DP World, a global logistics company based in the UAE, signed two agreements with Indian organizations to strengthen supply chains and maritime cooperation. One agreement was with RITES, a company under India’s Ministry of Railways, to improve logistics and trade between the two countries. Another agreement was signed with Cochin Shipyard to develop ship repair services in India. These agreements will help improve trade routes, ports, and transport systems between the UAE and India.
Education Collaboration
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) to set up a campus in Dubai. IIMA is one of India’s top business schools. The Dubai campus will offer world-class business education and help develop future leaders in business and innovation. The campus is planned to open in two stages, with the first phase beginning later this year.
Healthcare Partnership
Dubai Health signed an agreement to establish the UAE-India Friendship Hospital (UIFH) in Dubai. This hospital will provide affordable and high-quality healthcare to people in the UAE and India. The initiative is a joint effort between Dubai and India to improve healthcare access for everyone, especially those who need it most.
Medical Education and Research
Dubai Medical University (DMU) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) signed an agreement to work together on medical education and research. Both institutions will collaborate on various health topics, including infectious diseases and the use of new technology like artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. The partnership will also help students and staff from both universities learn from each other and exchange ideas.
What These Agreements Mean
These agreements will help both the UAE and India grow their economies, improve healthcare systems, create better education opportunities, and enhance trade. They are also a step towards building stronger ties between the two countries, not only in business but also in education, healthcare, and technology.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed concluded by saying that these partnerships will bring lasting benefits for both countries, helping to create a more connected, innovative, and prosperous future. The signing of these agreements shows the strong friendship between the UAE and India and their shared commitment to mutual growth and success.
