Former South Korean child star Kim Sae-ron has died at the age of 24. The actress, who starred in the Netflix drama Bloodhounds and numerous other productions, was discovered dead at her home in Seoul, South Korea, on Sunday. A friend discovered the body, and although the cause of death remains a mystery, police have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play.

Kim Sae-ron became a popular child star in South Korea after her acting stint in the film A Brand New Life at the age of 9. The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and had won numerous awards. Throughout the years, Kim had acted in numerous hit films and television dramas and became an established figure in the South Korean entertainment scene.

But her career suffered a severe blow in 2022 when she was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol. The accident made her take a step back from acting, and she was even cut from some scenes in Bloodhounds. The DUI resulted in financial hardship, with the actress being fined about 20 million won (approximately $14,000), which made it tough for her in the final two years of her life.
