Study 1: Public Trust in Police Strategies
The first study is titled "Safety and Security in Abu Dhabi: The Impact of Policing on Public Perceptions". It was published in the International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice and was written by Dr. Jacqueline Sebire and Dr. Gareth Stubbs from Rabdan Academy, along with Major Mohamed Saif Al Hanaee from the Abu Dhabi Police.
This research examines how police strategies affect public trust and feelings of safety in Abu Dhabi. It also offers suggestions on how police can improve their performance and build stronger connections with the community.
Study 2: Using Virtual Reality in Crime Scene Investigations
The second study, titled "Assessing the Utility of a Virtual Reality Arson Crime Scene Investigation Simulation", was published in Policing Oxford. It was co-written by Dr. Eric Halford and Paige Keningale from Rabdan Academy, Dr. Alshaima Taleb Hussain from the Abu Dhabi Police, and Dr. Camie Condon from Seneca Polytechnic.
This study explores how virtual reality (VR) can be used in criminal investigations. The research shows that VR technology helps investigators better understand and analyze crime scenes, making crime scene training more effective and realistic.
Study 3: Fighting Money Laundering with Data Models
The third study is called "A Risk Scoring Model for Managing Money Laundering Transactions". It was published by the ADGM Academy Research Centre and authored by Dr. Eric Halford from Rabdan Academy, Dr. Ian Gibson, Mark Newfield, and Mufazzal Dhanwala from the Middle East and North Africa Financial Compliance Group, as well as Peter Ware and Rauda Al Dhaheri from the ADGM Academy Research Centre.
This study focuses on creating a data-based model to identify and assess the risk of money laundering transactions. The model helps financial regulators and institutions strengthen their efforts in preventing financial crimes and protecting financial systems.
Driving Positive Change through Research
These studies highlight Rabdan Academy and its partners’ commitment to producing high-quality research that offers practical solutions. Their work supports Abu Dhabi’s goals of enhancing security, safety, and financial stability, contributing to a safer and more secure society.
