Florida Marine Park Raided Amid Animal Abuse Allegations

US law enforcement and wildlife officials have raided a marine park in Florida after reports of animal abuse. The Gulf World Marine Park, located in Panama City Beach, has been facing serious allegations. In the past year, four dolphins have died at the park, according to local news.

Animal rights groups have recently shared videos taken from drones that show dolphins swimming in tanks filled with dirty, green water. These images have raised concerns about the condition of the park.

James Uthmeier, the Attorney General of Florida, has spoken out about the issue, saying he will not accept any kind of animal abuse.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) carried out a search at the park after Uthmeier requested it. This investigation came after reports that the park owners had stopped FWC rangers from checking on the animals.

Reports say that three dolphins died at the park in October. Another dolphin passed away earlier this month after hitting its head in a shallow part of the pool while performing tricks for the visitors.

The Dolphin Company, which owns the park, lists several species at the facility, including bottlenose dolphins, rough-toothed dolphins, sea lions, penguins, harbor seals, birds, and reptiles.

UrgentSeas, an animal welfare group, has raised concerns about the park's conditions. Phil Demers, the director of UrgentSeas, said, "We’ve been recording and sharing videos of the terrible conditions at Gulf World, and we’ll keep doing so until the animals are rescued."

Demers also expressed worry that the animals might have to stay at the park while conditions keep getting worse. He is calling for immediate action to save the animals from further suffering.
