Dr. Ehtesham, the head of Mayo Hospital, confirmed the woman's death and said that they stopped using the injection that caused the problem. To find out what exactly happened, Dr. Haroon Hamid set up a team to investigate the issue.
The hospital is working to make sure that such things don’t happen again and is taking steps to keep patients safe.
In response to the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the hospital unexpectedly. During her visit, she removed the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS) from his job after hearing complaints from patients and their families about the hospital’s poor conditions.
She was upset and asked the MS, “Do you even know what is happening with the patients? Who put you in charge? Be glad I’m not having you arrested.” She also criticized the hospital, saying people come hoping to get better, but the hospital staff doesn't care about the problems inside the hospital.
This action was seen as an effort to fix problems in the hospital and make sure it works better in the future. It also reminded other hospitals in the area to take better care of their patients and improve their services.
