Dubai Launches #ZayedAndRashid Campaign to Celebrate UAE Pride

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), Dubai has launched the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, aimed at celebrating key national occasions in the UAE. The initiative, announced during a press conference at the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), is a collaborative effort involving 16 government, semi-government, and private sector organizations.

The #ZayedAndRashid campaign coincides with significant events such as UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations. It seeks to honor the Founding Fathers of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, for their pivotal roles in establishing the nation. The campaign will run from November 3 to December 2, showcasing a vibrant array of festivities across the emirate.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the UAE leadership and the community during this celebratory period. He emphasized that the campaign would not only honor the UAE's Founding Fathers but also reinforce national identity and unity among the citizens. The initiative aims to create a memorable experience for the community while highlighting Dubai's historical achievements and cultural diversity.

Throughout the campaign, various events and activities will take place, organized under the umbrella of #ZayedAndRashid, with the intention of showcasing the rich heritage of the UAE. Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized the dedication of various institutions and the community to honor the country’s history and achievements through these festivities. She highlighted the importance of media in covering the celebrations, ensuring a comprehensive portrayal of the events happening throughout Dubai.

A range of exciting activities is planned across the emirate. The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will host events at key cultural sites, including the Hatta Heritage Village and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, where visitors can immerse themselves in Dubai’s cultural heritage. The Etihad Museum will feature exhibitions and interactive displays that tell the story of the UAE's formation.

Expo City Dubai is set to host a musical concert titled "Union Symphony," performed by the Firdaus Orchestra, which will present Emirati national songs in two free public performances. Al Wasl Plaza will be decorated with UAE flags and traditional décor, showcasing local cultural performances and the Emirati Harvest Market.

In addition, the Dubai Municipality plans to illuminate major parks and iconic landmarks like the Dubai Frame with festive lights, creating an enchanting atmosphere for the celebrations. Various events will also be organized in collaboration with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), including community gatherings that celebrate maritime heritage and showcase the contributions of the Founding Fathers.

Dubai Airports will highlight Emirati customs through cultural events, while the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) will present the “Union Day Concert” featuring renowned artists, culminating in a vibrant parade on December 2 at City Walk. Spectacular fireworks displays are scheduled to illuminate the skies at iconic locations, ensuring a lively atmosphere across Dubai.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) will promote national identity through a community campaign focused on Emirati heritage and student engagement, showcasing talent in arts, photography, poetry, and design.

The Museum of the Future will celebrate by adorning its premises with the #ZayedAndRashid logo, while Majid Al Futtaim malls will host a series of entertaining and educational events reflecting the festive spirit of the season.

Furthermore, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will decorate main streets and bridges with national flags, contributing to the campaign’s visibility. Dubai Holding will also play its part by celebrating through its pavilions and nightly fireworks at Global Village, along with educational workshops highlighting the achievements of the Founding Fathers.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department will organize events promoting community engagement and national pride. Meanwhile, Dubai Media will ensure extensive coverage of the campaign across its platforms, including a special program on Sama Dubai channel that focuses on the contributions of the UAE’s founding leaders.
