Drydocks World has been chosen to repair and improve the FPSO BAOBAB IVOIRIEN. The contract was given by MODEC Management Services Pte. Ltd. and will help Drydocks World become even stronger in ship repair and upgrades.
The work will begin in May 2025 and take eight months to finish. The project will include big repairs, such as replacing 1,000 tonnes of steel, painting 250,000 square meters of tanks, and installing 11,500 meters of new pipes.
The living space for the workers will also be improved. New modern equipment will be added to make the ship work better and last longer. After the repair, the ship will be able to operate for 15 more years, helping West Africa continue its oil and gas production.

Drydocks World, which is part of DP World, has a lot of experience in fixing and improving ships. It has worked on more than 50 big projects, including 30 FPSO ships. This new contract shows the company’s strong skills in ship repair and its promise to give good service to its clients.
Why is FPSO BAOBAB IVOIRIEN Important?
This ship is very important for oil production in West Africa. It can process 70,000 barrels of oil per day, handle 75 million cubic feet of gas, and inject 100,000 barrels of water per day. It can also store 2 million barrels of crude oil.
Right now, the ship is working in the Baobab oil field, which is 25 km off the coast of Côte d'Ivoire. It will travel to Dubai for repairs at Drydocks World’s shipyard.
Contract Signing Ceremony
The contract was signed at Drydocks World. The event was attended by Capt. Rado Antolovic, CEO of Drydocks World, and Gary Kennedy, President of MODEC Management Services Pte. Ltd.

About FPSO BAOBAB IVOIRIEN
This ship was first converted in 2003 from a Ultra Large Crude Carrier (ULCC). It was built to increase its production when needed.
FPSO ships are very important for deepwater oil and gas work. They process oil and gas at sea and send it to tankers or pipelines.
