Del Toro Wins 2026 UAE Tour in Abu Dhabi Finale

Rider Isaac del Toro of UAE Team Emirates XRG has won the 2026 UAE Tour, sealing the overall title after safely defending his lead on the final stage in Abu Dhabi.

The 21-year-old Mexican secured victory with a decisive attack on Stage Six, the summit finish at Jebel Hafeet. Del Toro launched a late move on the climb to win the stage and take the red leader’s jersey. He then controlled the race on the final day to confirm the biggest stage-race win of his career so far.

Del Toro finished the seven-stage race ahead of Italy’s Antonio Tiberi, who took second place overall. Australia’s Luke Plapp completed the podium after a competitive week of sprint finishes and mountain battles across the Emirates.

Final Stage Sprint in Abu Dhabi

The last stage ended in a bunch sprint in Abu Dhabi. Italy’s Jonathan Milan claimed his third stage win of the race, showing his strength on flat finishes. Norway’s Erlend Blikra finished second on the day, while Australia’s Sam Welsford came third.

Milan was the fastest sprinter throughout the race, with multiple stage wins, including victories in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Earlier in the week, Tiberi had briefly taken the overall lead after a strong performance on the Jebel Mobrah climb. However, Del Toro’s powerful ride at Jebel Hafeet proved decisive in the general classification battle.

The UAE Tour, part of cycling’s WorldTour calendar, features a mix of desert sprint stages and challenging mountain finishes. This year’s edition once again showed the contrast between sprint specialists like Milan and general classification contenders like Del Toro.
