Dubai’s iconic mosques are lighting up in a spectacular way this Ramadan with breathtaking light projections. This unique initiative, called ‘Anwaar Dubai,’ is organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office. It aims to offer residents and visitors a stunning visual experience during the Holy Month.
The dazzling illuminations are one of the key highlights of this year’s #RamadanInDubai campaign, which was launched under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Four well-known mosques in Dubai—Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Al Khawaneej Mosque (Al Habbai), Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Mosque (Al Hudaiba), and Zabeel Grand Mosque—are at the center of this artistic display. Their facades are transformed with colorful lights and intricate patterns that reflect Islamic and cultural heritage.
This project adds a beautiful touch to Dubai’s Ramadan celebrations, using advanced lighting technology to create an unforgettable experience. The entire structure of each mosque, including its minarets and domes, is illuminated with artistic designs that blend perfectly with its architecture. The light projections even extend to the floors, making the entire area part of the visual spectacle. This initiative not only enhances the festive spirit but also showcases the deep cultural roots and values of the UAE.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, shared that this creative project is part of Dubai’s vision to combine art, technology, and culture to enrich the city’s urban environment. She added that ‘Anwaar Dubai’ reflects Brand Dubai’s commitment to innovatively celebrating religious and national events. This project beautifully captures the essence of Ramadan while making Dubai even more visually stunning.
Mahra Al Youha, a member of the organizing committee of the #RamadanInDubai campaign, explained that the initiative merges modern lighting technology with artistic creativity. It presents Dubai’s cultural and Islamic identity in a contemporary style, offering a breathtaking experience that enhances the city’s Ramadan atmosphere.
Now in its second year, the #RamadanInDubai campaign continues to spread joy across the city. Led by Brand Dubai in collaboration with various government, semi-government, and private sector partners, the campaign celebrates Dubai’s rich culture and makes Ramadan even more special for everyone.
