The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has won an award as the Best Project Owner of the Year at the FIDIC Contract Users Awards 2024. The award was given because of ADPIC’s new and improved General Conditions of Contract (ADGCC), which is now required for government projects in Abu Dhabi. The new rules include giving more power to engineers so they can make faster and better decisions. It also adds Dispute Avoidance and Adjudication Boards (DAABs), which help solve problems fairly and quickly. These changes aim to make building projects smoother, faster, and fairer for everyone involved.

His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said this award shows how ADPIC is leading in improving the way buildings and roads are made. He said ADPIC is showing the region a better way to grow and build things.

Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Acting Director General of ADPIC, said they are happy to get this award. She said it proves their hard work to make rules fairer and help projects finish better. She added that ADPIC is trying to bring new ideas to make things faster and fairer.

This award also comes as the UAE moves up to fifth place in the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) Index. This shows that the UAE is doing a great job in building strong and future-ready infrastructure. ADPIC’s work is a big part of this success, helping Abu Dhabi and the UAE grow in smart and better ways.
