The inaugural Animenia Abu Dhabi festival is set to take place from October 23 to 27, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in partnership with the event agency BRAG. This exciting five-day festival will transform the Saadiyat Cultural District into a vibrant representation of Neo-Tokyo, aimed at positioning the emirate as a central hub for the rapidly growing anime fandom in the region.
Set against the stunning beachfront backdrop of Saadiyat Island, Animenia Abu Dhabi promises to be a landmark event, featuring renowned personalities from the anime and video gaming worlds. Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup that includes concerts, J-Pop performances, and appearances by beloved characters from popular shows, creating an immersive experience for fans.

A highlight of the festival will be its international cosplay competition, boasting a prize pool of over AED 400,000, making it the largest ever offered at any anime festival globally. This event aims to set a new standard for anime festivals and attract cosplayers from around the world.
In addition to cosplay, the festival will host meet-and-greets with notable anime directors, manga artists, and video game creators. A dedicated gaming hub will be available, along with workshops that encourage guests to dive into the rich creativity of anime culture. Attendees will have the chance to explore themed exhibits, interact with their favorite characters, savor delicious Japanese street food, and shop for exclusive anime and manga merchandise.
Tickets for Animenia Abu Dhabi are currently available for purchase on the festival’s official website and through Ticket Master. Fans can buy a Festival Day Pass starting at AED 65, with a limited number of 5-Day Festival Passes priced at AED 425. General admission tickets for the concerts, which also grant access to the festival grounds, are available for AED 185. Additionally, guests can enhance their experience by opting for a Meet-and-Greet add-on for AED 100.
