The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement have introduced a new Golden Vendor List to support local businesses and help the economy grow. This list is part of a special program called the Abu Dhabi Local Content Programme. The aim is to give local companies more opportunities to work with the government and private businesses.

The Golden Vendor List was launched during Abu Dhabi Business Week, and many important officials were present, including His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, His Excellency Fahed Salem Alkayyoomi, and Mohammad Al Kamali.
The new list includes 145 industries and will make it easier for government and private companies to buy from local suppliers. This will help local companies grow, create new jobs, and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s economy.
Currently, 74% of government spending will now focus on buying products and services from local companies. The government will continue to add more services to the Golden Vendor List in the future.
The new changes will also change how government contracts are given. Local businesses on the list will get extra points when applying for these contracts. This will make it easier for local companies to win contracts and grow their businesses.
The Golden Vendor List also encourages local companies to hire local workers and improve their skills. It will also support the use of new technologies and ideas to encourage innovation.
The list will use Harmonised System (HS) codes, which are international codes that make it easier to sort and sell products. These codes will speed up and simplify the buying process for both the government and local companies.
Mohammad Al Kamali, from Abu Dhabi Investment Office, said: “The Golden Vendor List is an important step to help local companies grow, create new jobs, and support the economy.”
The Golden Vendor List will focus on local companies to boost government spending, create jobs, support training programs, and help the economy grow. This plan will make Abu Dhabi’s economy stronger and create a brighter future for local workers and industries.
