Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, revealed that a targeted traffic campaign ran from July to September. Officers observed numerous reckless drivers across the emirate, with some intentionally creating chaos to film their antics for social media fame.

Many violations involved actions like hanging out of windows or riding on the roofs of moving vehicles. According to Decree No. 30 of 2023, the fine for reclaiming an impounded vehicle is AED 50,000, which may result in permanent confiscation.

Maj. Gen. Al Mazrouei noted that most offenders were tourists, with 80 violations by Asian nationals, 29 by Europeans, 40 by Emiratis, and 7 by African nationals, while the remaining 95 involved individuals from other nationalities.

He urged the public to report any reckless behavior through the 'Police Eye' feature on the Dubai Police app or by calling 901.
