Bushey, North London: UK police have arrested Kyle Clifford, 26, from Enfield, in connection with the brutal deaths of three women in Bushey, a town north of London. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, has shocked the local community and drawn national attention.
The victims were identified as Carol Hunt, 61, the wife of BBC radio and Sky Sports racing commentator John Hunt, and their two daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28. Authorities have stated that the attack appears to have been "targeted."
Police apprehended Clifford in Enfield, where he was found with injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. They confirmed that Clifford was known to the victims and that no additional suspects are being sought.
Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson described the incident as "horrific," noting that a crossbow, and possibly other weapons, were used in the attack. The police were called to the Hunts' residence, where all three women were pronounced dead at the scene.

During the search for Clifford, a nearby primary school in Enfield kept children indoors as a precaution. The use of a crossbow has raised concerns about weapon regulations in the UK, where it is legal to own a crossbow without a license, but illegal to carry one in public without a reasonable excuse.
Interior Minister Yvette Cooper expressed her shock and stated she is being kept informed about the investigation. A spokeswoman for the Home Office mentioned that legislation concerning crossbows is under constant review, with a call for evidence launched earlier this year to determine if stricter controls are needed. The findings of this review will be considered promptly to decide if further legal measures are required.
The media community has been deeply affected by the tragedy. BBC Radio Five Live described the incident as "utterly devastating," and Sky Sports Racing expressed their condolences on social media, stating that their thoughts are with John Hunt and his family during this difficult time.
Neighbors recounted the terrifying moments of the attack. A 46-year-old resident described hearing "shrill" screams followed by "absolute chaos" as armed police arrived and locked down the area. Another neighbor described the Hunts as a friendly family who regularly greeted passersby, expressing shock and sadness at the events.
This incident is not the first crossbow-related attack in recent times. In March, a 47-year-old man was arrested after injuring two people in separate crossbow attacks in Shoreditch, London. Last October, Jaswant Singh Chail, 21, was jailed after being found on the grounds of Windsor Castle with a loaded crossbow on Christmas Day 2021, where he intended to harm Queen Elizabeth II.
As the investigation continues, the community of Bushey remains in mourning, grappling with the senseless loss of three lives in a crime that has left a lasting impact on all who knew the victims
