The second UAE aid ship has reached Beirut Port, carrying 3,000 tonnes of relief supplies as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This campaign began in October 2024, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It has been closely monitored by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs’ Families Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, also supervised the initiative.

The ship was welcomed at the port by Dr. Nasser Yassin, Lebanon’s Minister of Environment and Head of the Government Emergencies team. He was joined by Brigadier General Bassem Nabulsi, Chairman of the Supreme Relief Authority.

The relief supplies include essential food items, winter supplies, shelter materials, and specific necessities for women and children. These items aim to support Lebanese families during challenging times, especially as they face ongoing crises.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to helping the Lebanese people. He stated that this commitment stems from the values established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, who believed in offering assistance to those in need. Al Shamsi also highlighted the UAE’s swift response to Lebanon’s urgent needs, saying that the aid is meant to support the country’s recovery and stability.

The campaign has been carried out in coordination with Lebanese government authorities and international humanitarian organizations to ensure the aid reaches those who need it most.
